The 19th Session of the FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Asia (CCASIA) was held on 3-7 November in Tokyo, Japan.
The 19th Session of CCASIA was chaired by Thailand and co-hosted by Japan.
115 delegates from 21 Asian Member countries, 4 Member countries outside the Region, 6 international organizations and representatives of FAO and WHO attended the Committee.
The Committee achieved a big progress on many issues, namely the discussion on the regional standard for Non-fermented Soybean Products.
Thailand, as the Coordinator for Asia, will continue to work until end of the 38th Session of CAC for Asia to facilitate coordination of Codex activities among Member countries in the region, and to organize coordinating meeting for CCASIA Members prior to Codex sessions to facilitate discussion and development of regional positions on issues of mutual interest.
